Olympic Results: Guo Wenjun Makes it Three Golds for China

China’s Guo Wenjun ruled supreme in the women’s 10m air pistol making her the third Chinese athlete to win a gold medal. The score so far in the US vs. China race for gold medals is China: three golds vs. US: two golds.

But this is only the second day of the competition and there’s a long way to go for both teams.

N.B. The silver medalist for this event is Natalia Paderina of Russia while the bronze went to Nino Salukvadze of Georgia.

Olympic Medal Results: David Kostelecky Makes it Two Golds for the Czech Republic

Wow. The Czech Republic is off to a really good start in Beijing, eh? It now has a second gold medal courtesy of David Kostelecky in men’s trap shooting. The silver medal went to Pellielo Giovanni of Italy while Alipov Alexey bagged the bronze for the Russian Federation.

David Kostelecky sort of came from out of the blue as you won’t find anything substantial about him in teh internets. Time to make an entry on this guy, you wikipedia editors.

Anyways, David’s gold medal feat follows the achievement of his countrywoman Katerina Emmons who, as I stated earlier, gained the distinction as the first Olympic gold medalist in Beijing.

Olympic Results: Stephanie Rice Bags Australia’s First Gold Medal

Congratulations, you earring-wearing swimmer. That was teh awesome. It seems that, as predicted, the girl swimmers of Australia will do better than the boy swimmers. The evidence so far: Stephanie Rice = teh awesome; Grant Hackett = a dud dude in the 400 meters. But to be fair to Grant, his event really is the 1,500 meters where he is the defending champion.

Olympics Medal Results: Park Taehwan Makes it Two Golds For South Korea

Let’s add the name of swimmer Park Taehwan to South Korea’s list of Olympic heroes. He just won a gold in the 400 meter freestyle. He joins fellow countryman, Choi Minho, who earlier won a gold medal in judo.

Btw, all these hand actions by our Olympic champions remind me of the nursery rhyme that goes: I have two hands, the left and the right. Hold them up high…..

Phelps Makes it Two Golds for the U.S.

Michael Phelps wins his first gold medal and adds a second gold medal for the United States. This victory should W as happy as when he was out looking at ladies’ butts.

No gold medal response yet from the Chinese “we are the center of the universe” team as of this posting so the rivals both have two golds at this point.
