Ouyang Kunpeng Gets a Life

Them Chinese authorities sure are harsh aren’t they? They banned one of their best swimmers, Ouyang Kunpeng, for life because he tested positive for the anabolic steroid clenbuterol.

Is this the first time a swimmer’s been banned for life? I don’t remember coming across reports from other countries imposing a lifetime ban for dopesters. But, to be honest, I haven’t really dug into the matter.

Anyways, good luck to Ouyang Kunpeng on his future endeavors.

Viagra in the Olympics

Psst, hey you spectator who wants to ogle at skimpily dressed male athletes, here’s a tip you should bear in mind: look out for those athletes who will be using Viagra during the Beijing Games.

What’s that again? Some athletes will be using Viagra? That’s right. Apparently some of them have used it in previous events and will, no doubt, be using it in the Olympics.

Because authorities aren’t sure whether Viagra really enhances athletic performance, they are allowing it to be used in Beijing. I’m pretty sure those who will use it will be very popular with the ladies [and the gays].

Can you imagine the results if male swimmers, and gymnasts, and divers, and wrestlers will use Viagra to enhance their athletic performance? Hah. The ratings of the Olympic Games will skyrocket to be sure. The Games will overtake the World Cup as the most watched sports event. And Beckham, that exhibitionist who’s turning women into silly Beckham maniacs and who’s making a lot of men jealous/envious will totally become a has-been.

American Sprinter Antonio Pettigrew: "Me Doper, Graham Liar"

Earlier, we asked whether American runner Antonio Pettigrew is a doper. Now we know the answer. From the AP:

Olympic gold medalist Antonio Pettigrew admitted publicly for the first time Thursday that he used performance-enhancing substances during a long, successful sprinting career in which he passed all drug tests.

So our Doper’s List of Shame continues to grow longer. Pettigrew was coached by American Trevor Graham who, as we reported here, is under trial for allegedly lying to federal investigators.

Tatyana Lysenko: Doper?

Arrghh. Here’s another athlete we are including in our doper’s Hall of Shame: Russia’s Tatyana Lysenko, the world record holder for the hammer throw.

She failed a drug test according to the IAAF and has been banned for two years. She will miss the Beijing Olympics and her results from the past two years have been wiped off the record books.
