The Art of Olympic Hugging

If you are a wannabe Olympian, you should learn the very important art of Olympic hugging in case some silly paparazzi take your hugging photo and immortalize it for all time. Anyways, I’ve compiled several photos [actually xinhuanet did] so you’ll know how to do it properly.

1. The “I’m so happy, I will cry hug” featuring Italian fencing silver medalist Francesco D Aniello.

2. The “group circle hug” featuring the German dressage team which won the gold medal.

3. The “I may be an Olympic gold medalist but I’m very respectful of my coach hug” brought to you by South Korean Jin Jong Oh, gold medalist of the 50 meters pistol shooting who’s very respectful of his coach.

4. I’m almost tempted to call this the “get a room, hug” but I’m afraid of them Chinese censors so let us call it the “I’m looking at you and almost hugging you hug”.

Video: Usain Bolt’s Olympic Gold Medal Run

Update: Youtube deleted the previous video but this new one should work.

This is the best video of Usain Bolt’s gold medal winning run I can find at Youtube. I think the IOC and its ilk are preventing the uploading of better videos. Damn them.

Anyways, congratulations to you Usain. What will that crystal ball gazing Michael Johnson say now that his bet Tyson Gay didn’t win the gold medal? But in fairness to Michael he merely predicted that Tyson will beat Asafa Powell in the 100 meters; both turned out to be non-contenders for this event.

Video: Carol Huynh’s Gold Medal Bout

Here’s Carol Huynh’s gold medal bout for you “Carol-crazy” Canadians. The quality of the video leaves something to be desired but it’s the only one currently available at Youtube. I’m sure some good soul will upload a better video later. For the time being, enjoy this video and send a thank you message to Carol.
